The trial version shows License expired after loading the license from the xml file.
The license was a new one and the registration mail shows a valid date.

The Trial version needs a working Internet connection. So if you block the access, the expired message appears.
It's also possible that you're behind a Proxy and didn't configure the proxy in the setup wizard?
